Law Is A Long Road

In these days, there is some difference about my life. That is, i just started working  in a law office three days ago. And even now –in my very first days- i learnt a huge thing.

When i graduated from the third class, i started to think, “hmm, now i am %75 lawyer i guess. Wow, that’s a lot.” But what i learnt in the law office is, i really don’t know anything about law. I am not %75. Not even %15. Maybe just %5. This is very sad to me. I mean you are studying years over years and one day you realise that you actually don’t know anything.  Of course it hurts but i also learnt something from this pain.

The first one is, life is a  long road. And so is law. If you started to it and  wanna continiue, your education process will never  finish. There are so many books to read, so many movies to watch and  so many tiny details to learn. It will never end. Ever. But what the important thing is in this process, you should never give up. If you give up now, all your efforts will be trash. Maybe there is not white light and nice flowers waiting in the end. It will be stressfull during whole process and also its end. But if you believe in deep down in your heart, maybe there can be some goodness with your hand in law.

The second thing is, nobody is perfect and whether you read all books or not, it is impossible to know everything about law. You can’t be master in law. There will be always some staff that you don’t learn. And that’s why, you will be always a student in the way of law. Whether you become a lawyer, judge or a proffessor, you will be also a student in entire of your life.

Knowledge is a  good thing. But the better one is, to know what you don’t know. If you know the things that you don’t know, you can complete your defects. If you don’t, you cannot, unfortunately. Hundreds years ago, what Socrates said is “The only thing that i know is that i don’t know anything.”

This is totaly right. At least, it is all true for me. And i always think, “yeah, i suppose i know something right know” . But the law office showed to me –thanks to it- i don’t know anything. And the good side is, there is still time to improve myself and complete my lacks. And i guess there is always time to do this.

I wish a better world with the power of law.

I TOLD MY STORY!

If you ask me what’s the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life, I’d say, “Which one? I’ve done so many cool things!” But if you said, “Come on, be serious now,” I’d tell you: the day I told my story. That was the day I felt the bravest, coolest, and most inspired. It all started when one of my close friends invited me to the  TOUCH Network storytelling event. I was like, “Cool, let’s go.” I didn’t have any expectations, good or bad, except that I knew we’d see some farm animals since the event was taking place on a farm. So we went. It was a storytelling event, as advertised, but not just random storytelling. Four people talked about struggles they had overcome in life, how they did it, and what we could take from it. It was basically like TED Talks, but with fewer spotlights and more human touch. If you know me, you know I’m all about human connection, deep conversations, and touchy subjects. So I was so happy when I realized what was going on. I had the most beautiful tw...

End of an Era

This is a long-awaited post about my departure from the UK. I’ve finally settled back in my hometown (for now), and a week has already passed. So, here we go. I said goodbye to a country where I spent six years—give or take. It was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do. Though I always knew I’d say goodbye someday, I never truly believed that day would come. It felt like ages away. I was a completely different person back then. I came to this country in tears, and I'm leaving in tears. The first time, I cried because I was heading into the unknown. Now, everything is familiar, known, and feels like home. But the tears on my cheeks fall for a different reason. I never thought I’d leave behind so many loving hearts in just six years. I came to this city knowing no one. And now, I’ve spent my final days saying goodbye, meeting people, and even struggling to   find enough time for everyone. Goodbyes are hard. Goodbyes are always hard. I don’t even know exactly what—or wh...
